I’ve been doing a cool experiment the last few months – and it’s been a game changer.

Ever feel bogged down by endless tasks?

Pushing through, even when you’re not feeling it?

Yeah, I’ve been there, tick-boxing my life away.

It gets heavy.

And stressful too.

It’s not fun.

But on a coaching call with our Protege group one day, John (our resident peak performance coach) laid out the golden rule of peak performance…

It’s a simple trick backed by tons of scientific research:

The quickest way to get to a better result is to step back, chill, and revisit it when you’re feeling good.  That’s when your brain has much clearer access to a broader range of possible solutions.

Most traders get into trading so they can achieve a life of fun, joy and feeling good. But trading – or any task – can turn into a chore, sucking the joy out of life.

We’re meant to enjoy the ride NOW, not “someday”.

And from what John was saying, we don’t need to wait until we’ve got trading all figured out to do that.

We don’t need to postpone happiness. We can choose to live that way RIGHT NOW.

So I decided to give it a go…

Instead of prioritizing tasks based on what I thought I should do, I prioritized what made me feel good at that moment.

What did I WANT to work on?

What inspired me, got me excited or made me happy?

I focussed on those tasks instead and the results blew my mind…

Not only was it more fun, but the tasks I was anxious about seemed to work out OK too. The solutions to those problems revealed themselves over time, when I was ready.

It turned out, making joy a priority skyrocketed my productivity and happiness.

Now I’m sold on the technique.

Feeling good became the best prioritization principle I ever used, and I recommend you try it too.

You don’t need to postpone feeling happy until your trading takes off. You can do it right now, starting TODAY.

Prioritize the tasks that make you feel good, and see what happens.

The results may surprise you.

Happy trading!

Tomas.

PS. I discovered a few other surprising benefits to the “feel good” prioritization technique. I shared them in a more detailed video in the BTA community.

If you’re already a BTA member, you can watch my video here.

If you’re not a member, the quickest way is to grab a copy of my book here. It’s less than the price of a Big Mac meal and will nourish your brain without making you feel bad afterwards!
