This may sound a little odd to some…

Because I know lots of people will probably disagree…

But I think Mondays are awesome. I love Mondays. (Well I do now, but when I was a corporate slave chained to a desk all day, it was more dread than love. But that story is for another day.)

Anyway, the reason I love Mondays is because it’s a fresh start to the week.

There is SO much potential ahead to achieve some amazing stuff. It doesn’t matter what happened the previous week, whether it was terrible or great, Monday is a great opportunity to reset and get ready to make some awesome stuff happen.

But I find it’s important to start the week off properly, with a little bit of “Mmm…”

What the heck is “Mmm…” I hear you ask.

Well, it’s Mmm…motivation!

I find if I start the week in a slump, that can carry itself through the week too.

But if I come racing out of the blocks on Monday, full of inspiration and joy, pumped about the potential the week holds, then that tends to set the scene for an incredible week.

And I think this applies to everyone, no matter what you want to achieve.

Whether you’re a beginner trader trying to find your way. Or a more experienced trader working to get even better, motivation can carry us a LONG way.

It can be a solid push to propel us closer to our trading goals. To keep us moving in the right direction, no matter what’s going on around us.

So, with that in mind, we thought it might be good to trial a new initiative we’re calling “Motivational Mondays”.

We obviously didn’t spend much time coming up with that unimaginative name, but you can guess what it’s about. For the next few weeks (or longer if people dig it), we’ll be sending you a little slice of trading motivation every Monday, to get your week off to a cracking start.

It might be a short story or an inspirational quote.

It might be a riddle, joke or a case study from a trader busting through challenges to achieve awesome results.

Or it might even be a picture of some fat guy doing yoga in a mankini. (Ok, I promise to never share that!)

But you get the deal – start the week with a fresh slice of motivation and become the best you can be.

So, here’s the first one. I’m going to keep it to a short quote today because I’ve already rambled on a bit. It’s a quote from motivational expert Zig Ziglar.

The reason I really like this quote is because you can replace just a few words and it applies nicely to trading too. Here’s the original quote:

“Never blame anyone in your life. Good people give you happiness. Bad people give you experience. The worst people give you a lesson. And the best people give you memories.” – Zig Ziglar

And the trading version is easy, just replace “people” with “trades”:

“Good trades give you happiness. Bad trades give you experience. The worst trades give you a lesson. And the best trades give you memories.”

Have a great week!

Andrew

PS. Tomorrow I’m heading off to Singapore for a few weeks’ holiday with my family. I plan to spend some considerable time drinking beers by the pool at Marina Bay Sands, soaking up some sun, playing with my kids and reading a good book. It will definitely be a great week for me! Hope yours is too.
